EIN – You need one!

If you do not have an EIN (an Employer Identification Number), no matter how many years you have been providing child care, you should get one. This registers your business with the federal government. This number works in place of your social security number for business related items (ie. set up a bank account, apply for loans, and paying taxes).

Early STEM Matters

Early STEM Matters, describes four guiding principles that reflect a philosophy about early childhood and STEM education. Children need adults to develop their “natural” STEM inclinations.

  1. Children need adults to develop their “natural” STEM inclinations.
  2. Representation and communications are central to STEM learning.
  3. Adults’ beliefs and attitudes about STEM affect children’s beliefs and attitudes about STEM.
  4. STEM education is not culturally neutral.
