Safe Sleep (Risk of SID and SUID)

Any infant who sleeps while in a child care setting is considered at risk for SIDS and other sleep-related infant deaths.  It is important for providers to ensure that all infants are sleeping in a safe environment. Safe Sleep is one of the optional training that is recommended for new licensees and/or new staff. It is also a training that established providers can take to help meet the required training hours for licensing.

AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) offers a free online learning module on Reducing the Risk of SIDS and SUID in Early Education and Child Care for early education and child care providers. This training is currently available through 10/02/2020 and offers 1.0 contract hrs of training. You will be able to register right from this page once you have an AAP Individual account set-up.
