Maine Roads to Quality (PDN) – MRTQ offers both face-to-face and online options for professional development in the early childhood. Whether completing Core Knowledge Training, taking a course for continuing education, or completing one of Maine’s professional credentials, MRTQ is available to support an individual’s professional development goals. MRTQ also offers a number of Community of Practice options across the state for both developing a network and earning professional hours accepted by licensing. The monthly meeting is usually on the 4th Monday from 6-8pm.
MaineHealth Let’s Go! 5210 – Let’s Go!’s online trainings designed to educate child care providers on different physical activity and nutrition-related topics. Each module is coupled with a knowledge-enhancing quiz. By successful completion of all currently available modules, you can earn 3 licensing contact hours.
Cooking Matters Maine (Good Shepard Food Bank) – provides hands-on cooking and nutrition classes. Classes are free to participants and host agencies. The program usually runs 4 to 6 weeks. Classes are offered in all 16 counties through partnerships with Maine SNAP-Ed*, Eat Well Nutrition Program**, 5-2-1-0 and other community organizations.
Maine Educators Consortium – MEC has an academic partnership with Endicott College that is approved by the Maine Department of Education for it’s on-line courses that are lower cost than most other college courses. The application based courses are specifically designed to address teacher certification requirements and professional development.
iLookOut Maine provides three (free) online, interactive courses specifically designed for people who work or volunteer at child care programs. iLookOut provides a Core mandated reporter training (3 CU), Advanced Training 1 (3 CU), and Advanced Training 2 (7 CUs).
