Social Media Guidelines

Technology has changed how many people connect with others. Today more connections are occurring through the use of social media. This is true for the majority of parents of the children in family child care. It is also true that individuals are using this social media in difference ways for different purposes. There are concerns that arise around the use of social media especially in relationship to young children and staff/client relationships. The following guidelines will hopefully provide some clarification in how information and any individual associated with it will or will not be shared through social media.

Privacy Settings offer some control, but many of these are changed without notice. It is important to remember that once anything is posted online in reality you lose control of it. Anything posted can be spread by reposting and sharing increasing the likelihood it will remain online well into the far-distant future.
